The Braga-based textile company Anglotex is to invest €3 million to double its production capacity.

With a turnover of close to €40 million and more than 200 staff, the company works with large international brands and has plans to grow over the next 10 years.

“We’re going to start expanding our unit number two, in Cruz. We’re going to double it in size, so that we can have [production] capacity for the next 10 years”, said João Gomes, Operations Leader at Anglotex — who, together with his brother Marco Gomes, manages the company created by his parents, António and Conceição Gomes, in 1991.

“The investment will be in the order of €2.5 to €3 million, which will allow us to double production, which today stands at around two million pieces per year”, he told the online source ECO.

João Gomes explained that the project is currently undergoing licensing processes and the expectation is that “within a year, a year and a half, it will already be in an advanced phase”.

With around 220 employees and a plan to continue growing, Anglotex closed 2025 with a turnover of €38 million.

The expansion project is geared towards future company growth with the United Kingdom, France, Italy and the USA as its main production destinations.

“We want to bring the team together, we want to give the team more conditions, and to invest in different technologies and the way we are organised at the moment. Our current unit is at full capacity and no longer allows us to grow further”, he points out.
