Havi Portugal to invest €18 million in the North of Portugal
Havi Portugal, a company that specialises in enhancing the supply chains of large brands like McDonald’s and Portugália, will continue to invest in Portugal to 2026.
With an investment plan of €200 million in Portugal and an intention to strengthen the country as a strategic and technological hub within the group, Managing Director Luís Ferreira told Jornal de Notícias about its plans to invest €18 million in the North of Portugal over the next few years.
He said that one of the main challenges in 2025 for company supply chains had been a lack of drivers as well as finding specialised technicians in specific areas such as automation and robotics.
This reflected a structural problem of labour in the sector which in turn made it difficult to meet operational and technology demands.
Other problems included inflation and price instability and rising costs of raw materials and energy.
This year Havi will invest around €11 million in expanding the Azambuja Distribution Centre with its opening slated for the beginning of next year.
Regarding Porto, where it already had a distribution centre in Canelas, it will invest around €18 million over the next few years which will give Havi a sustained presence and operation capacity in the North of Portugal.
It also has TechHUB, the group’s technology innovation centre that opened recently in Portugal, in addition to other strategic locations in Chicago (Its HQ), Krakow (Poland), and a new location shortly to be announced for Kuala Lumpur.
