The Portuguese startup Pixelmatters has launched a company relocation or set up service to help tech companies set up in Portugal.

Called Tech Hubs in Portugal, the service has already helped Ujet.cx to set up in Portugal and is focused on companies from the United States.

According to the online news source ECO which broke the story, from January Pixelmatters, based in the North of Portugal, will have a new executive leadership.

“Tech Hubs in Portugal was born organically, following a collaboration with an American company that bet on Pixelmatters as its local partner to start its tech hub in Portugal. With this collaboration, we realised the significant added value we can offer and that this could be a salable model, in a package specifically created for this purpose,” explains André Oliveira, founder of Pixelmatters, to ECO.

The initiative represents “a natural evolution” of the company’s offer ”Pixelmatters has been designing and developing digital products from Portugal for 12 years, with multidisciplinary teams and a quality-oriented culture. This base, together with a recognised brand in the market and the existing relationships with the technological community, creates unique conditions to position ourselves as reliable partners for the high magnitude of importance of opening a technological hub in a new area,” says the manager.

The United States is the priority target market for Tech Hubs in Portugal, taking advantage of Pixelmatters’ connections to this market. ”Historically, more than 80% of Pixelmatters’ customers are based in the United States, so that’s the focus. We have a unique track record in Portugal of successful collaborations with companies such as Rubrik, VMware, Salesforce, Fortinet, among others, and strong cultural alignment,” he explains. ”The offer is, however, obviously available to companies from other countries,” he points out.
