TAP transports record 2 million passengers to Brazil
TAP has achieved a new record in terms of routes to Brazil and has transported over 2 million passengers since the start of the year, exceeding last year’s passenger numbers according to the company.
“This is another historic record that reinforces the company’s strategic role in transatlantic connectivity and exceeded what we had achieved in 2024”, states TAP in a communiqué, adding that the “milestone was celebrated in Manaus with the arrival of TP51 from Lisbon”.
The Portuguese carrier already flies to 14 cities in Brazil and is the leader in connections between Europe and the South American country, with a market share of around 22%.
”This record on the Europe-Brazil route reflects passengers’ confidence in TAP and the importance of the Brazilian market,” said Carlos Antunes, TAP’s director for the Americas, quoted in the statement.
TAP’s strong presence in Brazil has been highlighted by the privatization candidates as the main attraction of the Portuguese company. Traffic to South and North America accounts for half of the airline’s revenue.
