Brisa Group completes acquisition of Axxès

Portugal’s electronic motorway toll and road management company Brisa has completed the acquisition of France’s Axxès.

The integration of Axxès with Via Verde (the toll brand name) places the Brisa Group as one of the European leaders in mobility services according to the company.

Eduardo Ramos, CEO of Via Verde and member of the group’s executive commission, will take over as Chairman of Axxès.

Pedro Mourisca, currently the CEO of Via Verde has been appointed as CFO and CEO of Axxès.

Axxès is one of the main suppliers of goods transport electronic tolls in Europe serving lorries, coaches, and other goods vehicles in Europe.

The deal price has not been released.

António Pires de Lima, CEO of the Brisa Group, says that “the completion of this acquisition represents an important step in the execution of our strategic plan, affirming Via Verde as a European leader in mobility services. Axxès brings us an innovative platform and a strengthened presence in the heavy vehicle segment, fully aligned with our decarbonisation objectives.”

Brisa’s overseas assets now include its international business unit, which operates in the United States and the Netherlands, and the subsidiary A-to-B, which provides tolling and traffic management solutions internationally. And, of course, the company has now acquired Axxès.
