Enhanced Fertility wins €15,000 at Road 2 Web Summit
Enhanced Fertility, a one stop shop, fully digitalised fertility patient pathway, leveraging data, AI and remote diagnostics to make better clinical decisions, was the winner at this year’s ‘Most Promising Startup Award’ in the Road 2 Web Summit programme, taking home €15,000.
The second prize of €5,000 went to Teemy, a hospitality startup that connects people to real places, helps them to explore the world, collect stickers and socialise, bringing together tourism, culture and gamified fun, in one place. It won in the ‘Best Performance at Bootcamp’.
Enhanced Fertility produces kits that quickly carry out infertility tests which was born out of founder Andreia Trigo’s own personal experience.
“I couldn’t get pregnant and went through a very difficult diagnostic process until I discovered why. It involved several doctors and tests and took many years to discover the problem I had, which is a rare problem, called MRKH, which means I was born without a uterus. It was very difficult to deal with the impossibility of getting pregnant at a time when I was still very young,” she says.
“The Road 2 Web Summit is much more than a support programme – it is the starting point for countless success stories. The trajectory of Portuguese startups — more than 5,000 in Portugal in recent years — proves that our ecosystem is growing in scale, talent and international visibility, consolidating itself as one of the most vibrant and innovative in Europe. More than 1000 startups have gone through the program since 2016, and all have left their mark on the ecosystem,” says Miguel Aguiar, executive director of Startup Portugal.
This year, as part of the Road 2 Web programme, Startup Portugal invited 115 startups based in Portugal to Web Summit, increasing the number of startups supported since the programme started in 2016 to 1000.
