Portugal’s Granter.ai is winning startup at Web Summit 2025
Granter.ai is the winner of the Web Summit 2025 Pitch, the tech summit announced on Thursday on the main stage of the Altice Arena.
It won the public vote with 80% including the jury that evaluated the startups’ pitches. VarsityScape and SegmentStream were the finalist startups. This is the second consecutive year that a Portuguese startup has won the Web Summit Startup Pitch, after Intuitivo won last year.
“The Web Summit is the biggest contest, the first biggest startup event in the country, and this pitch competition is the biggest competition in the country. Winning out of 2,000 startups is recognition, not only of the team’s ability to create a product that people want, but also of having an impact on the world and, in particular, on Portugal,” says Bernardo Seixas, founder and CEO of Granter, at a press conference held after the announcement.
An artificial intelligence company, Granter.ai democratizes access to public funding, particularly EU funding, the process for which the founders had felt was “too slow, too complicated, or just too disconnected” for most businesses, particularly smaller ones.
