NOS profits to September at €182 million – down 9.2%
NOS SGPS released its net results for the first nine months of the year and recorded a profit of €182 million, which represents a decrease of 9.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
However, the recurring result rose 21.3% to 177.7 million euros. This excludes the extraordinary effects resulting from the sale of towers and non-current gains with activity rates.
In the first 9 months of 2025, the results of the Telecommunications business (with EBITDA growing 4.3%) and IT (with EBITDA growing 13.7%), made it possible to offset the worse performance of the Cinemas and Audiovisual business (mainly due to the absence of box office successes in the 3rd quarter of 2025). In this context, consolidated EBITDA grew 4.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, explains NOS.
The company led by Miguel Almeida said that the “road to expanding margin and free operational cash flow will remain in place for one year, with an EBITDA margin for the telecommunications business at +1% and consolidated EBITDA AL–Capex at ’14% like-for-like on 2024.
The highlights of the results for the first nine months of the year are consolidated revenues, which increased by 2.0% to €1,336.9 million, with the growth recorded in the core Telecommunications business and new IT business offsetting the impact on the Audiovisual and Cinema business.
Consolidated EBITDA, which grew 4.2% to €618.0 million, driven by the focus on efficiency that resulted in a stable evolution of operating costs of 0.2% and allowed a margin expansion of 1.0pp to 46.2%.
The structural deceleration of Telecommunications Capex continues to leverage the performance of consolidated Capex, which decreased 1.9% to €273.5 million; and the generation of Operating Cash Flow sustained by good operating performance, with AL – Capex EBITDA increasing 14.0% to €245.7 million.
