MI Real Estate Personality Awards 2025

Magazine Imobiliário’s Real Estate Personalities Awards ceremony was held on Thursday (19 September) at the Hotel Vila Galé Collection Palácio dos Arcos at the same time that the publication celebrates its 12th anniversary.

The awards recognised the careers and work of five outstanding personalities in the fields of Real Estate, Construction, Tourism, and Environment, bringing together the representatives of prestigious companies that supported the event, including Grohe and Haier, and the institutional support of ADENE (The energy agency) and communications company Green Media.

The Real Estate Personality Award went to Pedro Lancastre, CEO of Dils Portugal who made a moving tribute to his parents who were present and who also were involved in property development in the 1970s and 1980s.

The Construction Personality Award went to Paula Roque, Managing Director of Révigres; the Environment Personality Award to Manuel Duarte Pinheiro, an Environmental Engineer and Professor, the Tourism Personality went to the Secretary of State for Tourism, Trade and Services, Pedro Machado, while the Architecture Personality Award went to the architect Mário Sua Kay.

In his brief speech, the Secretary of State for Tourism referred that Portugal had hit a new record in 2024 to 29 million non-resident tourists, an increase of 9.3% on 2023 with 31.6 million tourists in accommodation and 88.3 million overnight stays bringing in €6.6Bn to the hotel and guest house sectors.

And according to data for 2025 so far, the overseas market is responsible for 70% of accommodation take-up with a focus on a growth in the US, Canada markets and the UK remaining as the main overseas tourism market for Portugal.
