Brazilian billionaire heads group of investors to invest €100 million in Cascais luxury development
UK architect Norman Foster to design project
Brazilian billionaire Carlos Sicupira is leading a group of investors who promise to invest 100 million euros in a luxury real estate venture in Cascais, the newspaper “Público” reported last week.
The luxury residential and commercial project, which is called Atóll, is to replace Cascais Villa Shopping, a set of buildings that are to be demolished to make way for the new project in Cascais.
Atóll will have two luxury residential towers, with an area for commerce, says “Público”. These buildings will be designed by architect Norman Foster, who will have the support of the Portuguese studio Fragmentos.
The vice-president of the Cascais Chamber, Nuno Piteira Lopes, told “Público” that the demolition of the shopping center, which will later give way to Atóll, will be done in a “sustainable” way, taking advantage of the “materials to build the new building”.
