Novobanco is the first large Portuguese bank to offer crypto currency services

Novo Banco has entered the cryptocurrency business, albeit not directly. Novo Banco’s trading platform has started to provide instruments that replicate the evolution of these products.

According to this Wednesday’s edition of the Público newspaper, in the same way that it allows investments in shares and funds that reflect the evolution of shares and stock market indices, Novo Banco customers will also be able to invest in products that evolve in line with digital assets.

The bank revealed that its financial products trading platform, called Trading Pro, this week started to offer clients “new trading instruments associated with digital assets (cryptocurrencies)”.

In practice, it is not a question of direct investment in cryptocurrencies, but rather in instruments that benefit from their characteristics and developments, namely their greater potential for return – which comes, as in any investment in the financial market, aligned with greater risk. However, there is no guarantee to compensate for any losses in these investments, so there is a risk of losing all the money invested.
