Aldous, a Spanish brand of food supplements, has entered the Portuguese market where it ambitions to make sales of €18 million in the first 18 months according to the Lusa news agency.

According to an official source, the brand now has an on-line presence and is negotiating the extension of its physical distribution in Portugal.

“Our goal is to position ourselves among the 10 best-selling supplement brands in the first 18 months. We expect to reach around 18 million euros in sales during this period,” said the same source.

Portugal represents a strategic market for the company’s expansion, the source said, pointing to the “geographical proximity and the high concern of Portuguese consumers with health and well-being”, among other factors.

In the medium term, the group plans to “open a local warehouse in Portugal, which will allow the creation of new jobs linked to the areas of logistics and operations.”

Aldous is investing “€1 million in this launch, aimed at web development, digital marketing and brand positioning, with the aim of ensuring a strong impact from the outset,” he revealed.
