Hotel Quinta da Comporta transaction completed
The hotel Quinta da Comporta has changed hands and is now the property of the French group Experimental for a suggested €70 million.
Opened in 2019, Quinta da Comporta is a wellness boutique resort with 61 luxury accommodation units comprising pool villas, townhouses, rooms and suites.
It also has the Inari restaurant and Oryza spa. It had been mostly held by the Portuguese designer Miguel Câncio Martins – his first design hotel in his own name.
The value of the transaction was not officially released, but according to the Jornal Económico the deal was closed for around €70 million.
The sale was accompanied by lawyers CMS Portugal and the financing of the transaction was through TenFifty Capital and supported by PLMJ while VdA represented Experimental Group in the acquisition.
The Experimental Group has boutique hotels, bars and restaurants in destinations such as Paris, London, Venice, Ibiza, Menorca, Biarritz, Verbier and Cotswolds. At the end of last year, it announced the purchase, in partnership with Extendam, of the Hotel Infante Sagres in Porto, which will be transformed into Experimental Porto, scheduled to open this autumn.
