Experimental said to be acquiring Quinta da Comporta for €70 million

The French hotel group Experimental, which owns the Hotel Infante Sagres, is said to be buying Quinta da Comporta for €70 million.

The Quinta da Comporta – Wellness Boutique Resort is a five-star resort located in Carvalhal. The group has boutique hotels, restaurants and bars in Paris, London, Venice, Ibiza, Menorca, Biarritz, Verbier and the Cotswolds in the UK.

In December, 2025, the Experimental Group purchased its first five-star hotel in Porto, the Infante Sagres and now it has bought the Quinta da Comporta according to Jornal Económico.

The Quinta da Comporta is mostly held by the Portuguese architect and designer Miguel Cânico Martins, this being his first project that he designed to be under his management.

The other minority shareholders are French according to sources close to the project.

The Experimental Group was founded in 2007 by three childhood friends: Olivier Bon, Pierre- Charles Cros, and Romée de Goriainoff, and later Xavier Padovani. As yet, the French group has not confirmed the purchase.
