Impresa expects revenues to grow 0.5% to 2028
Under pressure from the securities market regulator, Portugal’s media company Impresa has released a number of financial forecasts to 2028 in which the company which owns SIC and Expresso expects an annual average growth rate of 0.5% per annum to 2028.
Based on available information to June, 2025, the group which owns the television company SIC TV and newspaper Expresso expects a slight growth in revenues to 2028 estimating that the EBITDA will be €24.3 million but has not divulged any estimate for its net debt for the period or its estimated net result.
The figures were released to investors “for reasons of equal information” and “in response to a request” from the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM). The release also took place on the eve of an extraordinary general meeting on Monday, in which the group is expected to vote and approve an authorisation to carry out the capital increase that will lead to the entry of a new reference shareholder, MediaForEurope (MFE) with a 32.934% stake in the company.
According to the forecasts of the company led by Francisco Pedro Balsemão, consolidated revenues are expected to total €179 million this year and reach €182.1 million in 2028. Despite the slight improvement, earnings before interest, deposits, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) will reach €24.3 million euros this year, if the estimates are confirmed. The investment, which this year will have been just under €2 million, will total €3.7 million in 2028.
Regarding the two main businesses of Impresa – television and publishing - the group’s prospects are disparate. On the one hand, it estimates an annual growth of 0.9% in television revenues, to €159.4 million in 2028, and an operating result of €21.2 million. Costs are expected to increase by 0.5% per year.
