Portugal well-placed in Savills Spotlight on Wealth Trends 2025

The latest Savills Spotlight Report on Wealth Trends 2025 has confirmed that Portugal is firmly on the global radar.

Lisbon, Cascais and the Algarve all feature in the global HNWI Hotspot Index, reinforcing Portugal’s reputation as one of the most desirable places in the world to live, invest, and enjoy the freedom of flexible, international working.

The Report highlights that property remains at the heart of High-Net-Worth Individuals’ portfolios, with buyers placing increasing importance on lifestyle, capital preservation, and long-term value.

Sunshine, safety, and an extraordinary quality of life are at the top of the list, which is why the Algarve continue to attract the world’s most discerning buyers.

The numbers only strengthen this sentiment. Portugal recorded the highest property-price growth in the EU in Q1 2025, with values rising 16.3% year-on-year, far above the EU average of 5.7%.

New residential construction is also up 18% year-on-year, and the market is absorbing this fresh supply at a pace, particularly in prime coastal and resort areas.
