Bank Millennium sees profits up 56% to September
The Polish bank Millennium controlled by BPC, closed the first nine months of 2025 with profits of 855 million zlótis (€202 million), a 56% increase on the 547 million zlótis (€127 million) posted for the same period last year.
Nevertheless, the results for Banco Comercial Português, which holds 50.1% of the Polish bank, were conditioned by a portfolio of mortgages denominated in Swiss francs, in particular with provisions for the legal risk of those mortgages that totalled 1.503 million zlótis before taxes (€310.4 million, including €44.7 million regarding the mortgage portfolio in Swiss francs from Euro Bank).
The evolution of profits was supported by costs with the contribution on the banking sector dubbed “the bank tax” that stood at 301 million zlótis (€71.0 million), as well as costs to do with the mortgages in Swiss francs totalling €1.069 million zlótis before taxes (€302.2 million), down 32% on the previous year.”
The adjusted net profit to September, increased from 2,297 million zlótis (€533.7 million) to 2,347 million zlótis (€55.4 million), corresponding to a variation of 2% in Polish currency.
