Almost 90% of Portuguese think AI will make their lives easier
The majority of Portuguese believe that artificial intelligence will make their lives easier (90%) while 8% think that AI will not impact their daily lives according to a study from Netsonda for DE-CIX published yesterday.
According to the qualitative study, “89% of respondents believe that AI has made their lives easier, with the main facilitators being helping them find information faster (74%) and saving time by automating tasks (57%).”
Among the uses of artificial intelligence “most recognized by the Portuguese for impacting their daily lives are navigation and traffic updates (57%), virtual assistants (56%), AI-generated content (52%) and customer support by ‘chatbots’ (45%)”.
About “8% consider that AI does not impact their daily lives” and 11% of respondents say that it makes life more complicated, “mainly due to their perception that it can be biased or misleading (67%), appear impersonal or robotic (66%) and reduce human decision-making (60%)”.
The study was led by Netsonda through online questionnaires and a respresentative sample of 800 people with ages between 18 and 64 with a margin of error of 3.46%.
