The Financial Times ranking for Masters in Business Administration courses worldwide has selected three Portuguese academic institutions for running the best MBAs in the world.

They are Porto Business School, which makes the list for the first time, Nova SBE and Católica, both of which jointly have consolidated their position of national leadership, and ISCTE which has made the biggest gain up the ranking.

In this edition of the FT ranking which has 100 academic institutions, The Lisbon MBA joins the Católica University and the Faculty of the Economy at the Novo SBE, the Executive MBA offered by ISCTE and Porto Business School made the list with the latter debuting in position 95.

“The Lisbon MBA Católica/Nova SBE consolidates its leading position in Portugal, being considered, for the fourth consecutive year, among the 100 best executive MBAs in the world,” underscores those responsible for the programme, in a note sent to  newsrooms.

In the world ranking, The Lisbon MBA occupies 61st position while in the European ranking it comes in at 37 – meaning that it has made the European top 40.

“Three years after completing the programme, the alumni get an average salary value of 63%, getting an average salary before tax of US$208,000” say Nova SBE and Católica.

And highlight that this programme  “is the most international programme in the national market, attracting increasingly more international candidates who choose Portugal to do their MBA.”

More specifically, 35% of these MBA students come from overseas, representing 14 different nationalities.

The ISCTE Executive Education course has climbed 11 places, reaching 81st place in the world ranking and 38th place in the European ranking.

The Porto Business School Executive MBA makes its debut in 95th position worldwide and in 34th position at a European level.

The Lisbon MBA (a partnership between NOVA SBE and Católica-Lisbon) is ranked 24th in Europe and 77th globally in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking 2025. The programme is particularly strong in international experience, ranking 3rd worldwide for that criterion due to its partnership with MIT Sloan.

Nova SBE also has high rankings for its other programmes, including its International Master’s in Management, which is ranked 4th globally by the Financial Times.
