Companies association CIP to launch AI training for 50,000 companies
One of Portugal’s leading business associations, the Enterprise Confederation of Portugal (CIP) is to launch artificial intelligence training programmes for 50,000 companies covering some 500,000 employees.
The programmes will be geared towards “executives, managers, employees and students” and will be done in partnership with “universities, polytechnics and national research centers”, says the confederation led by Armindo Monteiro.
This initiative is part of the ‘AI Nation Portugal’ programme which involves companies and the government “in a collaborative platform to provide and transfer know-how to put AI as a driver for the economic, social and industrial transformation of Portugal to make it more competitive in the digital economy”, it added.
In a first phase, the ‘AI Nation Portugal’ training courses are estimated to cover “50,000 companies and half a million people”, with funding being public (through funds for the digital transition) and private (through sponsorship from large technology companies).
This movement and its programmes will be presented on Thursday, during the B9+ European Digital Summit, a European summit dedicated to the digital future, organized by CIP and the Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications (APDC), in Lisbon.
