Santander sells the largest Decathlon premises in Portugal
The Santander group has sold the largest premises of sports retailer Decathlon in Portugal for an undisclosed sum.
The brand arrived in Portugal in 1993 through the creation of a production centre in the North of Portugal in 2000, opening its first store in Amadora near Lisbon.
The French chain currently has 40 sports stores, the largest of which – the store that has just been sold – being in Matosinhos, Porto with 8,000m2 and opened in March 2010.
The owner of the Matosinhos building was the asset management company for Santander which has just sold the building.
“The ‘capital markets’ team at Worx Real Estate Consultants advised Santander Asset Management on the sale of the Decathlon store in Matosinhos,” the real estate consultant announced in a statement.
