Powerdot opens innovation hub in Porto

The Portuguese startup Powerdot, which is the largest independent charger operator in Europe with over 15,000 contracted charging points, 6 markets in Europe and 9,000 live charing points, has inaugurated an innovation hub in Porto to accelerate its growth in Europe.

Called Powerlab, it will enable Powerdot to test new electric vehicle charging solutions that can later be replicated across the entire company’s network of chargers in Europe.

The hub is the result of a €500,000 investment and starts with 30 staff.

“Powerlab was born as a centre dedicated to innovation and technological development in the electric mobility sector. Its main objective is to allow Powerdot to test and integrate new charging solutions, reinforce the reliability of the network and accelerate the introduction of advanced functionalities,” Luís Santiago Pinto, co-founder and CEO of Powerdot, told the online news source ECO.
