These works will involve a “profound transformation of the centre, from the façades to the car parks, the interior corridors and the restaurant area”, explains Ricardo Vilaça Pereira, Asset Manager of Sonae Sierra, according to Jornal de Negócios, quoting idealista.

Over 20 stores will sport new concepts while the Irish budget clothing and sportswear store Primark will also open a store in the centre.

The real estate arm of the Sonae group will invest around €16 million in the renovation works of GaiaShopping, in a project considered strategic and which also aims to improve the environmental performance of Gaia shopping center.
