MEO revenues up 3.5% to €1.4Bn in 1H
Portugal’s telecoms brand MEO enjoyed revenues of €1.392Bn in the first half of the year, which represents an increase of 3.5% compared to the same period last year.
And Altice Portugal’s telecoms business is beginning to offset the adverse effects on its balance sheets from its innovation centre in Aveiro – Altice Labs.
EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization or operating profit) stood at €488 million, following a 3.4% drop, according to the company’s financial report released on Thursday.
“MEO’s second quarter results for 2025 showed that it is transforming the speed (of data delivery) that today’s market needs, and we are consistently rolling out our transformation strategy to create a more competitive model that is adapted to the needs of consumers”, said the CEO of MEO, Ana Figueiredo in a note attached to the 1H results which were published on her LinkedIn account.
Investment in 1H stood at €197 million, of which €97 million pertained to 2Q. The company also said that falls in CAPEX due to investment in 5G has been compensated within a year of the rollout.
“We know that building a network for the future can only be made with investment. In a sector that is constantly evolving, where technology, connectivity, and sustainability have become pillars of our society, our reply has been clear: invest, innovate, and lead”, said Ana Figueiredo.
