The luxury homes for sale most viewed this summer
Mansions, palacettes, and estates worth over a million for sale have been attracting internet searches – most from people who haven’t got the money or intentions to buy them.
Proof of this, reports Negócios, are the most visited luxury properties for sale on the online estate agency site Idealista. Take the example pictured above – an elegant house at Quinta do Lago Algarve that would set you back €14.5 million!
Unlike what’s been going on in other sectors, the luxury real estate market not only rode out the pandemic, but has grown.
Business volume increased 31.5% in the first half of 2025 according to data from Engel & Volkers – a German luxury real estate agency with agencies in Portugal.
There are luxury residences spread throughout Portugal, but these properties tend to be concentrated in Lisbon and the Algarve.

This lovely mansion in São João do Estoril is going for €6.5 million.

This contemporary villa in Quinta do Lago has a €20 million price tag.
In Lisbon, the price of luxury homes increased 4.5% between January and June this year, with an average value for luxury properties reaching €8,600 per square metre according to the report World Cities Index from Savills.
Out of the 30 cities analyzed by the consultancy, Lisbon is the only one in the European Union to reach the top 10 of those cities that have most gained in value, occupying 10th place on the table ahead of large cities such as Berlin, Madrid or Milan.
In the compilation of the 10 luxury houses with price tags of over a million euros that have raised the interest of Idealist website surfers, is a town house with a seaward view at Monte Estoril for sale at €6.5 million to a modern Hollywoodesque mansion in Pinhal Novo in the Algarve with a home cinema room, spa and gym.
But the most expensive of all is the mansion for sale in the Algarve’s Quinta do Lago at a hefty €20 million.
